Martinson’s Garden Works is second-generation, family-owned and operated, and has been in business for over 30 years. They grow 95% of the plants sold. This means they’re the experts on all their varieties. Located on 9 beautiful acres along Highway 51 in Ridgeland, Mississippi, they offer wrap-around services from plant care and problem shooting to container design.
As I spoke to Mimi Martinson over the phone she described a thriving business that integrated Anamese pottery into their retail model seamlessly. This March they’re introducing Martinson’s very first Craft Market. The market will include 30+ vendors of fresh produce, crafts and goods. “It’s a great way to bring community together,” said Mimi. She described a vision of supporting local businesses and creating long standing relationships. The best part of this endeavor is that her son is leading the entire project, making it extra special for Mimi and the community. With live music, food and a family friendly environment, what’s not to love? The Craft Market will take place every 3rd Saturday from 10am-4pm.
